Can you believe we're already halfway through the year?
It seems like just yesterday we were talking about goals for 2026 and deciding what we wanted to focus on in the months ahead. Now here we are, with more than half of the year behind us and plenty of time still in front of us.
I think this is a good time to pause and take a look around.
Not with guilt. Not with a list of resolutions you were supposed to accomplish by now. And definitely not with the idea that you need to start over if things haven't gone exactly as planned.
Instead, I'd encourage you to ask yourself a few simple questions.
What's working?
What's surprised you?
What have you learned about yourself?
What needs adjusting?
Maybe you've made more progress than you realize. Sometimes we're so focused on the next goal that we forget to appreciate how far we've already come. Maybe you've discovered that a habit you thought would be difficult has become second nature. Or perhaps you've learned that something you thought was important at the beginning of the year doesn't matter quite as much anymore.
That's ok, too.
Goals aren't contracts. They're directions.
And sometimes, as we move forward, we learn more about where we actually want to go.
I've certainly experienced that myself. Some of my goals have stayed consistent, while others have needed to be adjusted along the way. I've had to work around injury, change the way I train, and reassess what my body needs at different stages. I've also learned that the habits that support my life aren't always complicated. Walking regularly, preparing food at home, getting enough sleep, and making time for the things that matter to me continue to be some of the most valuable things I do.
The goal isn't to get everything perfect.
It's to keep refining.
If something isn't working, adjust it. If a goal is no longer meaningful, reconsider it. If you've gotten off track, find your way back without beating yourself up. And if you aren't sure what needs to change, that's something I can help you figure out.
Sometimes the best plan isn't a complete overhaul. It's simply a few small adjustments that make the plan you already have work better for the life you're actually living.
So, as we move into the second half of 2026, I hope you'll give yourself permission to look back with a little gratitude and forward with a little curiosity. You don't have to reinvent yourself. You don't have to start over. You just have to keep paying attention, keep learning, and keep making adjustments that help you become the person you want to be.
The habits we build are not just about what we accomplish this year. They're about the person we're becoming and the life we're preparing ourselves to live for many years to come.
And maybe that's the best reason to keep going.
Not because we're chasing some perfect version of ourselves. But because we have been given a body, a life, and the opportunity to care for both.
That's something worth stewarding well.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and I'll see you in August.
